Olga Takes off Again as a Fitness Trainer

Unusual Symptoms: Olga Suffers a Cardiogenic Shock and Receives an Impella CP® Heart Pump

In June 2022, 41-year-old Olga tests positive for COVID-19. At that time of the pandemic, she is not the only one in Israel. However, the accompanying symptoms are unusual: Olga notices intense pressure in her chest and is in great pain. She is transferred to Tzamal Jacobson Hospital, where she is diagnosed with cardiogenic shock. The ejection fraction of her heart is severely reduced, thus the treating physician, Dr. Minhee, decides to use the Impella CP® heart pump to help Olga's heart recover.

Olga’s Treatment Is Successful: She Is Working as a Fitness Trainer Again

The treatment works: After a few days in the ICU and subsequent follow-up care, Olga is discharged from the hospital and able to return home with normal heart function. Today, Olga leads a largely symptom-free life and is wholeheartedly once again doing what she enjoys most: working as a fitness trainer and enjoying time with her three children and her family.
